One Charged Following Response to Robbery at Chester Avenue Home

Following KPD officers’ quick response and follow-up investigation, 20-year-old Dwan Woodley was charged with multiple felonies related to a robbery that happened at a Chester Avenue home.

At around 4 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024, KPD officers responded to a home in the 2200 block of Chester Avenue. A 27-year-old woman reported that two masked individuals had broken into her home, and that one of the suspects had held her at gunpoint. The suspects took a Playstation 5 and over $3,000 in cash before leaving in a white SUV.

Through continued investigation, one of the suspects was positively identified as Woodley, who was known to the victim.

In an effort to locate Woodley, officers responded to a home on Blue Star Drive, where they ultimately located and detained Woodley. Officers recovered the stolen Playstation 5 and cash as well as a gun matching the description of the one used in the crime.

In addition to the aggravated robbery charge, Woodley was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated burglary.
